PITTSBURGH (FFD) - I seem to be back in the good graces of the local watering hole—the Wheelfish Bar and Grill.
There was a time—under previous management—I was persona non grata because I complained about the music on the jukebox.
All water under the bridge now. That was years ago—and now I am back.
On that note, it was sure good to stop down at the Wheelfish Bar Thursday night and enjoy a nice, big meaty 8 oz. burger with home cut fries. It may sound strange - but this meal is fine on intermittent fasting 20/4.
You can’t do it all the time—chomp on fried foods each day, and I will admit, the more plant-based you go, the more you will go, on intermittent fasting. Still, it is a nice lifestyle to enjoy a meal out on a Thursday night with a couple beers and know that you are living an intermittent fasting lifestyle—not a diet.
I also got my exercise in too. I was feeling a little unmotivated to go the gym, so I jumped on my fall back mechanism, which is the stationery bike in my office. I read on Kindle as I knocked out a half hour, all in preparation for my trip to the Wheelfish.
It is Friday now and I have to game plan for tonight. The local football team plays home and that is always fun. There is ample opportunity to have another beer or two. Ultimately, the most healthy option would be for me to stay home and avoid beer and stadium food. But, I am not at that stage yet.
I am building a habit. My motivational mantra is that excellence is a habit.
The habit is to limit my food intake to a 4 hour window on the intermittent fasting 2-4 approach. Since Tuesday, I have been scoring touchdowns of establishing this habit.
My record doing this—building an intermittent fasting habit-was 36 days in a row. This time, my goal is to make it to the end of the year without losing—or basically 100 days. As I go, I plan to be more and more healthy along the way—but I am not going to count calories.
No sir. No mam.
I am not going to obsess over my weight. Easier said than done, but done I did it for the past three days. Here I go on this Friday Night Lights day of The Football Fan’s Diet.
