Most popular beers in U.S. according to Sales

We are all long-winded gasbags when it comes to ranking teams in the NFL. What about ranking the most popular beers?

An article on USA Today’s website does just that today. Although, they rank beers according to sales only and, well, you know there are less people (rather than more) that share a refined, cultivated taste for superior beer, so it is no surprise that craft beers are pretty much nonexistent on USA Today’s list.

The average cheap bastard needs to get wrecked on Natty and Bud Light and numbers prove it. We have seen our fair share of this desire at tailgate parties. But, my Sam Adams go to refined beer—that should be on the list, right?

Looking at the sheer number of barrels of beer sold, it is comforting to know that there are plenty of beer drinkers out here. The article states that some 42% of those who drink alcohol name beer as their favorite choice, according to a Gallup poll, while only 34% opt for wine.

This is good news because wine drinkers are annoying. They are whiners and always whining.

There is one other surprise on the list.

Yuengling Lager is really popular and cracks these nation wide sales numbers despite being mostly sold on the east coast of the U.S. This is my go-to, best of the cheap beers option.
