PITTSBURGH (FFD) - I just dropped my kid off at basketball camp and I’m now on the way to work. It is Monday the start of the work week and that means work. Work. Work—and more damn work. Such is life as a baller.

i had several beers at Hal’s Bar & Grill. What else is new.

Speaking of work, I feel like I put a workmanlike day in on Sunday to cap the week. I did have a few beers. I had a few wings and we did go out to eat for Father’s Day, but I also hit the gym and kept the calories within my Intermittent Fasting 20/4 Daily Gameday Objective

I am fretting a little bit about how my intermittent fasting and counting calories week went overall because my numbers were all a little higher than they were the week before. However, one thing I have noticed is that I feel a bit stronger this week and maybe my numbers are more or less where they should be.

Don’t get hung up counting calories

I don’t want to get hung up on numbers and I can see that being the big drawback of counting calories to begin with. I could see that also being the big drawback of watching your weight fluctuate. But I do know I am learning something about my health afterwards by tracking the data. so there is a part of me that is torn between the go it by feel approach and the go it by numbers approach.

Counting Calories without the emotion

I wish it was as easy as just keeping the emotion out of the data and then I could objectively look at some of the caloric intake I have had over the past week versus the week before and draw some insights. I also have to remind myself that the number on the scale is by no means an indicator of exactly how my body is changing just that it is changing.

I definitely feel more lean and tone this week I think the pictures I posted here for Week three confirms that visually.

I must NOT overreact to having lost Friday.

So in some respects even though I had a Godawful Friday last week my numbers were on the whole right on the money this week. I lost 2 pounds and I feel that it was a solid two pounds.

It bares worth repeating—I must NOT overreact to having lost Friday!
Dammit. Scratch still went to the gym.

I have this impulse to adjust my intermittent fasting 20/4 this week, like try to do something a little different. I guess if anything a teak I could make to intermittent fasting 20/4 would be to figure out other ways to cut the beer down even more and minimize the hops and barely as a factor. However, I had less beer calories this week, yet took in more calories overall.  So I did reduce beer only eat more. Hmm. I may have to drink on that one, eh, I mean think on that one.

I’m really curious what Coach will have to say this week at his upcoming presser. Will he make adjustments to the playbook? Will he make defensive adjustments? There’s a part of me that thinks he might just say keep doing what you’re doing because what you’re doing is working slowly. And maybe that’s the pace that I want to be at all along.

On that note it is Monday. The Fat Man is ready to kick the ball off and it’s coming my way. What will I do with it? What will you do with it? What kind of game will you and I have this week? We are about to find out.
