PITTSBURGH (FFD) - I know this weight loss journey is not going to be easy. It will require real fundamental change. I will need to alter what I value and do with my time, who my social acquaintances are, what hobbies and pastimes I enjoy—to ultimately turning around 10 years of the fat man getting the better of my health. That doesn’t sound too challenging does it?
Yesterday I kicked butt - a true dynasty day
Yesterday was an exceptionally healthy day on the Season 47 of Football Fan’s Diet. I actually hit the gym and got a great workout in. I ate healthy too and only had two drinks on the whole day.
Low Carb, Low Calories, Alternate Day Fasting
It was a low car low calorie day, which would also constitute a fast day on the alternate day fasting approach to intermittent fasting. On this later fasting approach, I limit myself to 600 total calories on the day (Note: I allow myself to deduct work calories burned - so I in effect count net calories). Still, my Daily Gameday Objective is a simple matter of calories (just like it was back in 2009, when that chart registered a 218 pounds).
Steelers at Jaguars today
My Steelers are on the road today. For my part, I will be watching the game at Pizza Roma, a popular local Pizza joint in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. My defense better show up. I was told that Pizza Roma got a 5 dollar half time buffet.
Anyway, the Jaguars have given the Steelers fits in recent years and they bounced them from the playoffs. I can’t forget that game. It is remarkable in the fact that the Steelers were looking past the Jaguars toward a playoff meeting with the hated New England Patriots. That never happened because the Steelers took the Jaguars for granted.
Lesson learned. Even though I had a Dynasty Day, I can’t take this next day for granted. Each day is an opportunity to take a step closer for further away from that Super Bowl of Health. Okay, the game actually started—and so has mine.
